NotebookLM for Families: Turn Any Textbook Into a Podcast

There is a Google tool that most parents have never opened and that solves a problem every parent has: a child who has to learn something from a document they will not read.

Why this tool is different from a chatbot

One property changes everything: it is grounded in sources you choose.

A general assistant answers from everything it absorbed during training, which means it can be confidently wrong about your child's specific textbook. NotebookLM answers from the PDF you uploaded, and cites which part it came from.

What you need

On accounts: it requires a Google account, and Google's consumer terms are 13+. For under-13s this runs on a parent's account, which suits the workflow anyway — the parent uploads the sources, which is exactly the step that should be an adult's.
