Character.AI
An AI character and creation platform. The open-ended Character chat covered here is for users aged 18 and over.
Version 2.10 — Updated October 2026 | Reviewed by KidsAiTools Team
Character.AI offers open-ended conversations with AI characters and user-created content. It has removed open-ended Character chat for under-18s; separate teen creative features do not grant chat access. Generated characters are not substitutes for real relationships or professional support. This page is for parents. AI character companionship and open-ended chat are outside our recommended children’s learning path. Editorial risk assessment: generated content may be wrong or inappropriate. Do not upload children’s personal details, images or voices. Check account, age and regional requirements; supervision does not replace eligibility.
